Exhibition title: dirt
Artist: Lanny DeVuono
Exhibition dates: September 4 — October 12, 2013
Exhibition space: RMCAD's Rude Gallery

The exhibition dirt contained a single, large-scale drawing. The work’s large scale paired with low hanging height, created an experience that lingers between an immersive environment and the orthodox viewing of an image hung on a wall. The installation stood as a synthesis of object and image by presenting a uncanny engagement reflecting on the human scale in relation to the landscape and environment. In this exhibition, artist Lanny DeVuono demonstrated her complex understanding of our sense of space in relation to two-dimensional surfaces and puts to use many modes of communication, including cartography, traditional representation of landscape horizons and both historical and current imagery.
